The walk is open to the general public and does not involve any particular technical difficulties. However, it is not suitable for people with walking difficulties or wheelchair users.

YOUR EXPERIENCE IN BRIEF

• Meet your guide at the junction near the Vesuvius Observatory in Ercolano (NA): 10:00 a.m. in summer and 2:00 p.m. in winter
• Walk approximately 2.5 km to the 1944 lava flow, located at an altitude of 568 metres above sea level
• Panoramic stop with historical and naturalistic insights
• Return to the starting point along the same route

HOW TO REACH THE MEETING POINT

If arriving by motorway, take the Torre del Greco exit and follow the signs for Vesuvius National Park (NA).

PURCHASING VESUVIUS TICKETS

Tickets for Vesuvius National Park can only be purchased online at https://bit.ly/4c8HCxs, up to 30 days before the date of your visit.

If tickets are sold out, check the “GRAN CONO DEL VESUVIO - last minute” event. Ten additional tickets for each time slot are released one hour before the slot begins. For example, at 10:30 a.m., 10 new tickets will be released for the 11:30 a.m. time slot.

PARKING

The parking areas located at altitudes of 800 and 1,000 metres, serving visitors to the Vesuvius Crater, are managed by the Municipality of Ercolano.

• We recommend purchasing your admission ticket to the Crater first, as entry is limited and your preferred time slot may not be available.
• Only after checking ticket availability should you purchase the parking ticket.
• Before boarding the shuttle, always make sure you already have a valid admission ticket for the Crater.
